A friend mentioned something about this to me last week and I thought it sounded ridiculous. I am wondering if there will come a time when it is impossible to separate ourselves from the internet. We currently have unlimited access and can choose to get on the web from anywhere. But will there come a time when it isn't so much a choice as it is a demand or necessity? I can't imagine why I would need the internet hooked up to my glasses, yet it is happening, so I imagine that more unbelievable things are yet to come.
I know certain gadget obsessed people in my family that will purchase these the second they become available. Honestly, the glasses seem like the next logical step in the path technology and the internet are taking. I find it amusing that people can take a simple task (like meeting a friend at a coffee shop) and turn it into some high-tech operation that requires uninterrupted and hands free access to the web. Our everyday activities have been enlarged to epic proportion. Everything is a secret mission of global importance. Do not get lost.
Nathan- I am totally on the same page with you. I believe in class during our buddy meetings we discussed the possibility of Facebook even providing a service to regulate people's Facebook interaction like having the ability to set times that allows access to the particular user. That way they are not constantly checking their page and notifications, but separating from the addicting site and entering back into the real world.
